Can the app add the dispatch date to Shopify's order confirmation email?
No. Shopify doesn't let apps change its order confirmation email. Instead, we add a note to the thank-you page and the order status page, which customers can come back to at any time.
What customers see
On the thank-you and order status pages, for orders placed during a keep-selling closure: "Thanks! We're away, so this ships from {dispatch_date}."
Steps
- Open the closure in Closures.
- Under Where to show it, make sure Thank-you and order status note (keep selling) is ticked.
- Optional: edit Order status note (keep selling) under Text for this closure.
- Click Save.
Good to know
- The note only shows for orders placed while a keep-selling closure is active. It never shows in block-checkout mode.
- The note shows even if the order only has products you've kept open. We can't tell which products are in the order on these pages.
- If the closure has no dispatch date (for example Close store now with no reopen date), the note says "Thanks! We're away, so this will ship as soon as we're back."
- The order confirmation email links to the order status page, so customers can find the note there.
- You can edit Shopify's notification templates yourself in Settings → Notifications. The app can't do this for you, and you'd need to change it back afterwards.
