Privacy policy: Holiday & Vacation Mode

Holiday & Vacation Mode ("the app") is a Shopify app made by Aspeno Ltd, a company in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app collects when a merchant installs it, how we use it and how long we keep it.

In short: the app stores settings about your store so it can close and reopen it on time. It does not collect or store any personal information about your customers.

Information we collect

When you install the app, Shopify shares some information about your store with us. We store:

• Store details: your store's myshopify.com address, Shopify store ID, store name, contact email address, timezone, country and main language.
• Access credentials: the access token Shopify gives the app so it can make changes you ask for, such as switching checkout rules on and off.
• Your app settings: your closures (names, dates and times, modes, dispatch dates), the messages you write, appearance choices, the collections and product tags you exclude, and your reminder email address.
• Plan status: whether your store has an active subscription to the app, which we check with Shopify.
• Email log: the address, type and time of each reminder email we send you, so we never send the same reminder twice.

Information we don't collect

• Customer data: the app does not collect, store or process personal information about your customers, such as names, addresses, emails, phone numbers or order details.
• Storefront: the storefront banner and notices run in the shopper's browser using the settings above. They don't send anything about the shopper to us and don't set cookies. The popup remembers that it was closed for the rest of the visit using the browser's session storage.
• Thank-you page: the note keeps the order's ID and the time the page was first shown in the browser's own storage, via Shopify's extension storage, so the note stays the same if the page is reloaded. This never leaves the shopper's browser.

How we use information

We use the information above only to:

• run the app's features (closures, storefront messages, checkout rules and order status notes)
• send you reminder emails before a closure starts and ends, which you can turn off in Settings
• check your plan with Shopify and keep the service secure and working
• answer you when you contact us for support

We don't sell your information, use it for advertising or share it with anyone except the providers below.

Service providers

• Shopify: the platform the app runs on, which handles installation, billing and checkout.
• Hostinger: hosts the app's servers and database, and sends our reminder emails.

How long we keep information

We keep your store's information while the app is installed. When you uninstall, Shopify notifies us. We stop using your access token at once, and we delete all of your store's information when Shopify sends its data-deletion request, about 48 hours after uninstalling.

Your rights

You can see and change most of your information in the app. To ask for a copy, a correction or deletion, or to ask any question about this policy, email admin@aspeno.co.uk. If you're in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. In the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
