My theme doesn't support app blocks. Will the app still work?

Yes, mostly. The top bar or popup works on any theme through the app embed. Only the product and cart page notices need app blocks, so on older themes they're skipped.

What works on every theme

• Store-wide top bar or popup (app embed).
• Blocking checkout, including express buttons.
• The dispatch date on shipping options at checkout.
• The note on the thank-you and order status pages.

What needs app blocks

• The product page notice.
• The cart notice. The app embed doesn't add a cart notice on its own.

How to tell

In the theme editor, click Add block in the product information section. If there's no Apps tab, your theme doesn't support app blocks. Online Store 2.0 themes, such as Dawn, do.

Options

• Rely on the banner. It tells shoppers about your closure on every page.
• Move to an Online Store 2.0 theme if you want the product and cart notices.
