How do I install the app and turn on the app embed?

Install the app, approve the plan, then switch on the app embed in your theme editor. The embed shows the store-wide top bar or popup. Nothing appears on your storefront until it's on.

Steps

1. Install Holiday & Vacation Mode from the Shopify App Store.
2. Approve the Yearly plan. It starts with a 3-day free trial.
3. You land on the app's Home page. Find the Set up list.
4. Click Turn on the app embed. This opens your theme editor with the Holiday & Vacation Mode embed switched on.
5. Click Save in the theme editor.

Doing it by hand

1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
2. Next to your live theme, click Customize.
3. In the left sidebar, open App embeds.
4. Switch Holiday & Vacation Mode on and click Save.

Good to know

• The embed is per theme. If you publish a different theme later, switch the embed on there too.
• Checkout blocking and the dispatch date on shipping options work even if the embed is off. Only the storefront banner and notices need it.
• If the embed is off, Home shows "The app embed is off, so shoppers won't see the banner." When it's on, the step shows a tick.
• Next step: add the product and cart notice.
