What's the difference between the dispatch date and the reopen date?
The reopen date is when your store opens again. The dispatch date is when you'll start shipping orders. They're the same by default, but you can set a later dispatch date to give yourself time to catch up.
Example
You're back on 3 January but need two days to clear the backlog:
- Reopen date: 3 January. Block-checkout messages say "Checkout reopens on 3 January."
- Dispatch date: 5 January. Keep-selling messages say "Ships from 5 January".
Steps
- Open the closure in Closures.
- Under Orders while closed, set Dispatch from (optional). It can't be before the reopen date.
- Or leave it empty and set Days after reopening before dispatch (0 to 60).
- Click Save.
Good to know
- Leave Dispatch from (optional) empty to dispatch on the reopen day.
- Weekly closures don't have a dispatch date field. Use Days after reopening before dispatch.
{reopen_date}and{dispatch_date}in your messages are swapped for these dates.- Keep-selling messages and shipping names use the dispatch date. Block-checkout messages use the reopen date.
